National screening programmes

Encourage engagement with national screening programmes:

Cervical screening:

• In England, cervical screening is available to women and people with a cervix between the ages of 25 and 64 years.
• Between 25 and 49 years, recall is every 3 years.
• Between 50 and 64 years, recall is every 5 years.

Breast screening:

• The NHS Breast Screening Programme provides 3 yearly breast mammography to women aged 50 to 70 years.

Bowel screening:

• In England, the NHS Bowel Cancer Screening Programme offers faecal immunochemical testing (FIT) every 2 years to people aged 60–74 years.
