Patients with a peanut or soya should avoid:
- Micronised progesterone. This product contains soybean lecithin. There is a possible relationship between allergy to soya and allergy to peanut. Patients with peanut allergy should therefore avoid using this too.
- Estriol 0.01% cream (Gynest). This product contains arachis oil (peanut oil).
Patients with an allergy to almonds should avoid:
- Androfeme 1% testosterone cream.
Patients with lactose sensitivity should be made aware that most oral HRT preparations contain lactose.
NOTE:
Prior to prescribing HRT, a patient should be asked about:
- Lactose sensitivity.
- Allergy to peanuts, soya and almonds.
