Side effects are more likely to happen at treatment initiation when the vaginal epithelium is at its thinnest. After 2–4 weeks of treatment, the vaginal epithelium thickens and absorption is minimal.
Side effects might include:
- Breast tenderness.
- Vaginal bleeding.
- Nausea.
- Skin irritations.
- Thrush.
- New odour or discharge.
