It can take 3–6 months to fully evaluate the efficacy of testosterone treatment.
If symptoms are no better after 3-6 months and blood levels have increased, stop treatment.
Where testosterone treatment is continued, there should be at least an annual re-evaluation of treatment with 6-12 monthly serum total testosterone levels.
Patients should be informed that safety data is not available beyond 24 months of treatment.
