Combined HRT regimens should be used in women who have undergone endometrial ablation because it cannot be assumed that all the endometrium has been completely removed, even if prolonged amenorrhoea has been achieved.

Continuous combined regimes are usually sufficient, although if bleeding episodes have returned a sequential regime can be used.
