PREMENOPAUSAL WOMEN
- In premenopausal women with heavy menstrual bleeding, the risk of endometrial cancer is 0.11% (1.1 in 1000).
- In premenopausal women with intermenstrual bleeding the risk of endometrial cancer is 0.52% (5.2 in 1000).
- In premenopausal women with any abnormal uterine bleeding the risk of endometrial cancer is low at 0.33% (3.3 in 1000).
POSTMENOPAUSAL WOMEN
- In menopausal women with postmenopausal bleeding, the risk of endometrial cancer is higher at 10% (10 in 100).
BLEEDING ON HRT
- The risk of endometrial cancer in women with unscheduled bleeding on HRT is significantly lower than that with post menopausal bleeding in women not on HRT.
NOTE:
- In women with risk factors for endometrial cancer, risks may be higher.
