HOW TO APPLY OESTROGEL OR SANDRENA GEL
- Gel should be applied to clean, dry, intact areas of skin.
- One bottle of Oestrogel contains 64 pumps.
- Recommended sites include the outer arms, shoulders or inner thighs. Gel should not be applied near the breasts, vulval region or face.
- A frequent change in application site is recommended.
- The area of application should be at least 750cm squared. This is a little bit bigger than an A4 piece of paper or 1-2 times the size of a hand.
- One pump or sachet should ideally be applied per limb.
- Gel should be allowed to dry for a few minutes before applying clothing.
- Washing the skin or contact with other people (at the site of application) should be avoided for at least one hour after gel application.
- Sunscreen, moisturiser or aftersun should be applied >1 hour after gel application.
- Hands should be washed with soap and water after application.
HOW TO APPLY PATCHES:
- The adhesive side of patches should be placed on clean, dry, intact areas of non hairy skin below the waist.
- The site chosen should be one at which little wrinkling of skin occurs during movement of the body, e.g. buttocks, hip or lower abdomen. Patches should not be applied to or near the breasts.
- The site of application should be rotated, ideally with an interval of 1 week between applications to the same site.
- The patch should be pressed firmly in place with the palm of the hand for about 10-30 seconds, making sure there is good contact, especially around the edges. Warmth is helpful to ensure maximal adhesive strength.
HOW TO APPLY LENZETTO SPRAY:
- The container should be held upright and vertical for spraying.
- Before a new applicator is used for the first time, the pump should be primed by spraying three times into the cover.
- There are 56 sprays per Lenzetto container.
- One spray should be applied to the inner forearm.
- If two or three sprays are prescribed as the daily dose, they should be applied to adjacent non-overlapping (side-by-side) areas of skin on the inner surface of the foreram.
- The spray should be allowed to dry for approximately 2 minutes before applying clothing.
- The site of application should not be washed for 60 minutes.
- Do not allow another person to touch the site of application within 60 minutes of application.
- When sunscreen is applied one hour prior to Lenzetto, no effect on absorption is observed.
