Testosterone should be applied to clean dry skin on the lower abdomen or upper thighs.
Testosterone should not be applied to the arms because this can interfere with safety monitoring of blood levels, cause potential transfer to another person and because the blood vessel drainage passes to the chest and breast.
Testosterone should be allowed to dry before applying clothes.
Skin contact with others should be avoided until the application site is dry and hands should be washed.
The area of application should not be washed for 2–3 hours after application.
The site of application should be rotated to reduce the risk of skin reactions and localised hair growth.
